Packing your ice climbing gear

Packing all of your ice climbing gear into a backpack can be as easy as packing two dozen clowns into a Volkswagon Beetle. Apparently it can be done! You will need more gear for ice climbing than for just about any other adventure sport there is. You not only need Ice Climbing Gear, but you will need basic mountain climbing gear, survival gear, food, water, blankets, tent, proper attire, and so on. There’s a lot of it.
Find someone who has experience in ice climbing to teach you how to properly pack your ice climbing gear. It is important not to just shove everything into the pack any way you can make it fit because there will be things that you need to be able to get to easily. It takes a few times to get it right, so do yourself a favor and get some help with it.
