Would Like to Learn More About Ares 2009

I have been looking for a new software for filesharing. I was looking online but so many of them had me worried about viruses and if they were secure, etc. I want to make sure that I use a good one. I would like to learn more about Ares 2009. I just saw an article about it on the Internet and it sounded like exactly what I was looking for. However, before I go ahead and download it I want to learn a bit more about it. My files are very important to me and I want to be sure that they are safe.
