What is Intrinsic Motivation?
By admin | January 30, 2008
Intrinsic motivation is the motivation that comes from the inside. Such motivation is not forced upon by any outside factors. It is the true form of self motivation. Intrinsic motivation proves to be far more effective in the long term. This is the case as the motivated person has a real interest in performing an action.
Let’s take an example, usually grades are used to motivate students to pass a test. However, without any real interest the students do not wish to learn the topic after they get good grades.
So, in order to get more efficient and long lasting results, intrinsic motivation is very important.
