How Can I Get My Ex Boyfriend Back?

I really miss my ex, and would like to get back together with him. Does anyone have any idea how I can get my ex boyfriend back? I don’t even know why he broke up with me in the first place. It was a total surprise. He isn’t even dating anyone else, so it isn’t because of another girl. I am wondering what I might have done wrong, and how I can fix it. I don’t want to seem too needy though, or ask him, so I am trying to find some advice on what I could do in order to get him back.
