Fire Changes Our Priorities

We had a tragic fire to hit our home over Christmas a few years back. It started in the basement while we were out at a party. Thank goodness, we weren’t home so no one was hurt. We had to replace everything from the children’s bedroom furniture to the carpet and wallpaper. It was like completely re-building our home. Structurally, the house was still sound, but the inside was gutted. Today, the house hardly even resembles the original house we bought back in the mid-80s. We don’t have as much stuff as we used to, we live quite simply. It taught us a lot of family lessons.
