Ever Tried a Japanese Bathtub?

By admin | January 26, 2008

Have you ever had the opportunity to enjoy a bath in one of the traditional Japanese bathtubs? It is beyond awesome… so very relaxing, because a traditional Japanese tub is pretty much two times as deep as the average American bathtub. Can you imagine actually being able to submerse yourself completely, all the way up to your neck in hot, soothing water? Just that very picture in my mind starts to relax me. Now, traditionally, the water in a Japanese bathtub, also called a Ofuro in Japan, tends to be rather hot compared to Western custom. This warmer water temperature actually helps with circulation, which is partly why these kinds of baths are so relaxing.
