Resolutions are not just for New Year
By admin | January 30, 2009
Recent research in America has found that alcohol and drug rehab centres are busier during the Christmas holidays than at any other time of year. According to the study, the emotive and chaotic nature of the festive season causes drinkers to reach for the bottle with greater zest. With family and friends often in attendance, it is much harder to shield alcohol-dependant behaviour from loved ones, who then encourage the addict to seek help and treatment.Christmas is now over and for most, this means returning to a relatively sober existence after the excesses of the holiday season. But for those who have continued drinking into the cold light of January, the post-Christmas period may prove useful as a time for self-reflection. If alcohol is controlling your life then consider making a belated resolution to find the help to turn your life around. Life-changing resolutions like these are not just for New Year.
