Periodontal and Gum Disease, Are They The Same?

By admin | January 30, 2008

Periodontal or gum disease is simply not a medical problem that most of us take seriously and this is not hard to believe because most dentists tend to focus on tooth decay rather than our gums. While cavities are very common and can spread harmful bacteria to other parts of the body, the fact remains that preventing gum disease may be even more important for your health. The practice of good oral hygiene is very important for all of us like brushing our teeth and using dental floss, likewise we need to emphasize our regular visit to the dentist at least every six months.
