With a name like Goldenseal, it has to be the an interesting herb. Certainly one of the more popular herbs on the market, Goldenseal has a wide following. Also called yellow root or orange root, it was originally said to help with digestion. Science is not convinced of Goldenseal’s effectiveness, but it is still widely used in teas and such. The uses today have changed from uses in the past. Now it is more commonly thought to help comfort folks with colds as well as help to relieve congestion. As with any herbal supplement, be safe, ask your doctor for yourself and see if you think it works.
