Bus Driver Jobs

A bus driver is responsible for safely driving a bus through set routes, with scheduled stops, where they drop off and pick up passengers. Duties may include collecting fares, issuing tickets, checking passes, and giving timetable and route information when required. A bus driver may also have to assist any passenger who needs help getting onto or off the bus, and is responsible for the safety of their passengers and other road users. A bus driver has to make routine checks on the vehicle before taking their bus out and has to any incidents that occur during their shift to inspectors back at the depot. A bus driver may work for a local bus company, may drive a school bus, or drive hospital patients to their destinations. A bus driver should preferably have finished high school. A commercial driver’s license (CDL) is required. There are strict regulations governing weekly maximum driving hours and how long drivers can drive between breaks.
