Bookstore contacts are critical

By admin | March 23, 2008

One of the most important aspect of book publishing marketing is follow-up contacts which are made to the owners out of bookstores and bookstore chains. In some cases as a result of these contacts, huge deals can be negotiated — chain bookstores may literally purchase thousands of copies of a single title that they want to promote heavily throughout their network of stores. Without access to these bookstores, it can be very difficult to rack up enough sales of your book to make it profitable for any publisher to be willing to publish it in the first place — so if you are ready to publish your book, ask if your publisher will be marketing your book to book stores.
