How I fell in love with the American Dulcimer

My husbands family is from West Virginia, and this year he insisted that we spend the holidays with them this year. I wasnt too thrilled with this idea because I am used to spending that time with my family, but since he pleaded with me, I agreed this one time. I was glad I made the decision. Every night of our stay his father and uncle pulled out a strange looking instrument called an American dulcimer . It looked kind of like a stretched out guitar, but thinner. The sounds that came out of the thing were sugar to my ears. His father and uncle played the dulcimers in harmony, and every note was a pleasure. Maybe we will spend next Christmas there too!
